This summer, one of the most original and unique competition shows I've seen debuted on Netflix: BLOWN AWAY.
Launching in mid-July 2019, this 10 episode miniseries (just 4 hours in total) focuses on 10 diverse and talented contestants from around the United States who want to showcase their glassblowing skills for the chance to win $60,000 in prize money and a residency at the Corning Museum of Glass.
In each episode, they have to tackle a specific design challenge - creating a concept and then making the accompanying glass artwork in 8 hours from start to finish.
Glass is an incredibly challenging medium to work with: it's unpredictable, brittle, and constantly in flux. The talented artisans profiled on the show bring their works to life but it's a heated (literally) battle along the way!
I don't want to spoil any of the challenges or eliminations but I truly enjoyed this show! Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
