    • Kara Swisher posted a fascinating interview with Elon Musk this morning both in podcast and written form:

He says they'll have fully autonomous driving modes next year.

The pickup truck tho. Here's what he said:

Then we’ve got the pickup truck, which — actually, I’m personally most excited about the pickup truck.

      Why’s that?

Well I can’t talk about the details, but it’s gonna be like a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, “Blade Runner” pickup truck. It’s gonna be awesome, it’s gonna be amazing. This will be heart-stopping. It stops my heart. It’s like, oh, it’s great.

Who do you wanna sell that to? People that buy F— whatever?

You know, I actually don’t know if a lot of people will buy this pickup truck or not, but I don’t care.

      Okay.

I mean I do care, eventually, you know. Like sure, I care. We wanna get gasoline, diesel pickup trucks off the road.

He has said before that it will be dual-motor 4WD and dynamic suspension that adjusts for load. Who's in? (I dunno where this pic is from, I'm sure it's someone's imagination.)

    • It, or one of his trucks, would make a great base for a motorhome. Getting diesel burners like our motorhome (19,000 lb) off the road would be a good thing. It's a shame that we could never afford one.

    • Yes, But range anxiety might be a thing........... although if your not in a hurry (Retired) you could put the solar panels out and when its got enough charge move onto the next spot?👍

    • That works for us, as we are very seldom in a hurry to get anywhere and we never have to "get home". 😁

    • Perfect for the zombie apocalypse 😆

The image is a concept rendering that Tesla has released , from what I recall. It might not be accurate to the end result.
