I've always wondered how the bet Canon made in 1987 to make a wide lens mount has played in their competition with Nikon. It let them have f/1.2 lenses where Nikon was limited to f/1.4. Did it enable better autofocus?
With Nikon's latest teaser video, some clever people have tried to estimate the size of Nikon's upcoming mount and it's ginormous. So...why? Will they put a medium-format sensor in the camera? What lenses will we see?
