Just yesterday I was looking at Chromebooks and trying to decide on which one to purchase when the sales (kid) man told me the new ones were coming in soon. Essentially, he told me to wait a couple of weeks for the latest and greatest. I decided to wait.
But, this article comes in a timely manner. I've toyed with Linux in the past, from RedHat back in 2003ish, to Ubuntu most recently. I've also experimented with Mint and dropping ChromeOS on an old laptop.
For the record, I think porting Linux programs/apps over to work on ChromeOS is brilliant and greatly expands what's capable on the noticeably limited operating system. Of course, as with nearly everything in Linux, it'll take some know how to make it work. So, we just need to be brave and trust in the internet to help us out when things go wrong (and they will, because: linux).
