My poor wireless router at home can't provide reliable Wi-Fi coverage for every room and almost none at the back yard. So I'm trying to figure out what to get to boost my Wi-Fi signal. I think 3 or 4 access points should provide enough coverage.
After doing a bit of research, there seem to be three main options:
1. Wi-Fi Extender - Requires plugging into a wired LAN, which I only have 1, but can run a wire if needed. About $100 for three extenders.
2. Wi-Fi Repeater - Plug and Play in any outlet without cables, but provides half the bandwidth since it uses the same frequency. About $60 for three repeaters.
3. Wi-Fi Mesh System - Google makes one, and it looks like it is a combination of both, but also plug and play. Three packs for $239.
I want an easy setup, excellent coverage, and no IT degree for maintenance. Is that too much too ask? Any suggestions?
